There are many practices for coconuts, but coconut oil
has a vast repertoire of usages. We at Organic Gurlz Gardens
know to always keep some handy. You may never know when you will need coconut oil!

have found that even if you eat a tablespoon of coconut oil
every day, you are lowering the risk of a weaker immune system.

How to make this renowned coconut oil:
Since I have probably “talked” you into using this coconut oil
, you might as well know how to make it.
It is cheaper than going to the store and purchasing a tiny container.

have a little dish of coconut oil on our kitchen table just like salt and pepper.
My Mommy’s (Becca pictured right) homemade coconut oil
You will need:
- High Powered Blender
- 1 whole coconut
- 1/2 cup of water
Make a hole in the top of coconut and then drain out the coconut milk into a glass. Set aside (You will not be needing the milk for this recipe.)
Cut the coconut in half. Shred coconut “meat” from the shell and place onto cookie sheet.
Set tray aside.
- Place sauce pan onto stove and add the water. Bring to water to boil, then cut the heat.
- After the water is boiled, pour into medium sized bowl and wait 3-5 minutes. Place the coconut meat inside bowl and let sit for about 10-15 minutes. (This softens the meat.)
- Meaning while, ready the blender. After 15 minutes has passed, pour contents of bowl into blender.
- Blend for about 4-7 minutes. You will know when the oil is done when the consistency is buttery.
Keep some by the bathroom
sink and on the kitchen
counter! After all, it does fit right into the beauty and culinary section!
