Today, Organic Gurlz Gardens of Indiana will be sharing information on Unique Smoothie Recipes.
In this article, we will be sharing a few recipes (with benefits) on some interesting smoothies! Get ready to sip away with delectably different flavors.
Citrus Gooseberry Smoothie:
This smoothie has just the right mixture of tart and sweet!
Our Fresh Ingredients-
- 1 cup of fresh gooseberries, trimmed
- 1 ¼ cup of freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1/2 cup of spinach
- 1/2 cup of ice cubes
- 1/2 cup of Greek plain/vanilla/banana yogurt (We recommend the vanilla, but choose according to your pallet)
- 2 tablespoons of honey
- 1 tablespoon of chia seeds
Place all of the ingredients into blender. Blend until desired consistency is reached.
Avocado Kiwi Smoothie:
Avocado. In a Smoothie. Can it be any weirder? No worries! This is more than delicious. (And healthy, if we may add!)
- Half of a ripened large avocado
- 2 kiwis’, peeled
- The juice from half of a large lime
- 1/4 cup of coconut milk
- Aloe juice (Optional, to taste)
- Honey (to taste)
- Handful of ice cubes
Place all of the ingredients into blender. Blend until desired consistency is reached.
*Makes approx. one 10 oz. glass
Time to indulge in some benefits!
High in Vitamins A and C, Gooseberries have lots of minerals such as Calcium, Iron and Copper.
The berries can reduce the risk of heart disease and promote cancer prevention. Gooseberries also stabilize blood pressure levels.
Benefits of Avocado:
Don’t put away that guacamole in the fridge just yet!
Avocado are stuffed with fiber, contain more Potassium than Bananas, and may help lower cholesterol levels when consumed. The berry (yes, berry) is also quite heart healthy.
In addition, Avocado works to make skin smooth and luxurious!
