Home Theater Seating
Two words: Home Theater! Who has not always wanted a theater in the comfort of their own home? First, going to the theater can be expensive. Secondly, the seating can also be very uncomfortable, especially after sitting in them for two to three hours. When designing your own home theater, it is important that you take the time in choosing your seating. You must take all of the measurements into consideration, as well as how many rows of seating you want. It is also important that you choose something that will be comfortable to sit in for hours at a time. Cup holders are also a must when it comes to choosing the perfect theater seats.
Consider This Before Purchasing
First, the most important thing is to figure out how far the seats need to be away from the screen. It is recommended that you start the first row at one and a half to two times the width of the screen. In order to do this, you must first measure your screen and then measure how far back the seats should go. Before purchasing your seats, you must know how many rows you want your theater to have. If you want more than one row, you will need a raised platform on all rows after the first one. The second row should have a minimum of seven inches of raised platform. A seventy-two inch depth platform is also required for any type of lounger. The next thing you need to decide is how many seats you want to put in a row. Once you figure out where your first row will start, you will need to measure the width of that area. That will give you an idea of how many chairs you will be able to fit. Finally, you need to decide whether you want an aisle or not. Most home theaters have a side aisle that is usually three feet. Once you have all of this figured out, you are ready to start shopping.
Recliners Versus Fixed Home Theater Seating
Choosing the type of seating you want in your theater can be difficult. Most people choose either recliners or fixed seating. Recliners are way more comfortable, but they can often take up more room. If you go with recliners, you will not be able to accommodate as many people. Fixed home theater seating are similar to real theater seating. Fixed seating rocks instead of reclines, so it does not take up as much room. You will be able to fit more people in the theater because more seats will be able to fit. You must decide whether you want to be comfortable or want to be able to have more people over.
Home Theater Seating
There is a lot to take into consideration when deciding which type of seating would be perfect in your home theater. You first must have the exact measurements of the room and how far back you want to start your seating. You must also decide how many rows you want and whether you want to include an aisle or not. Choosing which type of seating to get is definitely a personal preference and the decision can only be made by you.
