Pumpkin Day is always celebrated on the Sunday before Halloween. Although designed to be complementary to Halloween, it is a distinct and different holiday, both in the activities which commence and the tone of the day.
The scope of your Pumpkin Day is entirely up to you. Although the original Pumpkin Day has always been an “all day” affair, it can be as simple as carving Jack-O-Lanterns with your friends and family. Because it takes place so close to Halloween, there is little risk of your Jack-O-Lanterns rotting before Halloween but they will still be displayed long enough to be enjoyed by the entire neighborhood.
