Hi There, Fellow Gardeners!
This is AnnahMarie.
Today, Organic Gurlz Gardens will be sharing information on “Organic Ways to Help Prevent Allergies.”
Let’s face it, We all hate Allergies. The coughing, sneezing , sore throat, and runny Nose.
The used, balled up tissues by the bed and the couch.
Yuck.
But before you go dragging yourself and your tissues to purchase over the counter medicine, my Mommy, Becca, has a suggestion (or two) to act as an antidote for these pesky nuisances that allergies.
Sometimes, you just need to start with a good old hearty vegetable soup.
You can mix and match with some of these Organic vegetables:
Corn
- Carrots
- Broccoli
- Cabbage
- Celery
- Tomatoes
- Turnips
- Parsnips
- Onions (any variety type)
- Potatoes
- And Don’t forget to add your fresh herbs like Basil and Thyme!
Another great idea:
Start by making Teriyaki Salmon with a side of steamed brown rice in your kitchen. You can actually use any variety of rice, such as Red or Jasmine, but for this dish, but brown rice compliments the different flavors.
Serve with a cup of hot Miso soup or other broth-based soup. This help thin or some times clear out mucus.
Becca from Organic Gurlz Gardens of Fort Wayne, Indiana presents A Healthy Tip – Add some Garden fresh Broccoli. Broccoli can help regulate blood pressure, helps strength your immune system, has the antioxidants your body needs, and supplies you with fiber for a more balanced diet.
Becca Also suggests making Ginger tea.
If you are not a fan of tea , Becca suggests taking a plastic water bottle (Full of water) and place ginger inside (if you prefer, you can cut it into chunks or slivers). Over the course of an hour, some of the ginger will saturate. The water with have a nice spicy flavor. You can then heat up the water , cool it or freeze it.
Since the tea is a warm fluid, it will “scare” out your allergies and leave you and your body happy! 🙂
