The Cranford, New Jersey homeowners wanted to knock down their existing home and start fresh. They wanted to create a new, four bedroom, three bathroom home on their property. The lower level was to be approximately 1,270 square feet, the upper level 1,700 square feet, and an additional 400 square feet for the garage. They hired Design Build Planners to create a the new home design.
The homeowners found themselves in an unfortunate, but not uncommon situation as some other Design Build Planners’ clients. They first hired an architect, but the homeowners had many issues with him, and grew increasingly frustrated. When the Union County homeowners reached their boiling point, they found DBP and fell in love with our concept. You can find a post of DBP vs an Architect here. You will see our designs below, but here are a few images of what the architect provided the homeowners with. One of the main complaints from the homeowners is that they found it nearly impossible to “visualize” the project.
The design options are a result of homeowners online research combined with an in-home consultation with Design Build Planners. There is also a proprietary profile checklist that homeowners fill out that depicts their lifestyle and room usage. After compiling this information, Design Build Planners incorporates their construction knowledge and design creativity for the space with a focus on the budget and overall investment.
Below are the final computer designs created by Jason Parsons, a Certified Kitchen and Bath Remodeler.
