These Essex County County, New Jersey homeowners faced a situation that is becoming more and more common. With the costs of nursing home care becoming cumbersome, the homeowners decided to have an elderly in-law move in with them. This master suite project is “Phase Two” of another one of their on-going projects; an accessible bathroom. The Design Build Planners created designs for the project. As alluded to, the design was crafted for ease of movement and accessibility with no compromises on the subject of aesthetics.
The homeowners drew their inspiration from remodeling projects featured on Houzz.com. The design options are a result of homeowners online research combined with an in-home consultation with Design Build Planners. There is also a proprietary profile checklist that homeowners fill out that depicts their lifestyle and room use. After compiling this information, Design Build Planners incorporates their construction knowledge and design creativity for the space with a focus on the budget and overall investment.
