Hi There, Fellow Gardeners!
This is AnnahMarie.
Today, Organic Gurlz Gardens of Fort Wayne, Indiana will be sharing information on keeping your countertop clean!
The breakfast bar – the commonplace in the kitchen for entertaining, enjoying a delicious meal, and an abundance of family fun. We at Organic Gurlz Gardens appreciate fun-times and scrumptious suppers, but could “normal” procedures in preparing meals be hazardous to one’s health?
Salmonella:
Salmonella is a rather feisty Bacterium that targets the intestinal tract. Food poisoning is the most common reason for an intestinal infection in the U.S.A according to numerous studies. How does salmonella make its way onto your counter? Generally, salmonella claims its ground by traveling through uncooked poultry or beef.
As we all know, the kitchen counter is the primary place for preparing food – which also means it hosts plenty of germs. We at Organic Gurlz Gardens have a few different ways to clean up unique surfaces… naturally.
Marble:
For safely and effectively cleaning marble countertops, we at Organic Gurlz Gardens use a few simple ingredients-
- Microfiber towel (2)
- Hot water
First, make one of the microfiber towels damp with hot/warm water and wipe down the Marble countertop. Be sure to clean all the crevasses where dust and grime can hide. (DO NOT use soap, vinegar, or any acid.)
Take the dry microfiber towel and wipe down the counter to leave a flawless (clean) shine.
Granite:
- 2 Microfiber cloths
- Warm water
First, we make the microfiber cloth damp with warm, soapy water. Next, we thoroughly wipe down the granite countertops.
Then, we dry the counter with the other cloth to avoid aggravating streaking.
To help sanitize the countertops, we at Organic Gurlz Gardens mix together a 1:1 ratio of water and 91% isopropyl alcohol. Then, we spray the solution onto the granite and allow it to sit 4-7 minutes. Finally, we rinse with water and dry with a microfiber cloth.
