The Design Build Planners created designs for the this in law suite addition in Jackson, New Jersey. LOK Designs is managing and building the project. Below is the scope of the work.
- Remove the bump out in the kitchen to create access to the new space
- Build a new in law suite and added table area for the existing kitchen
- Crawl space under addition with access to exterior and through existing window to the basement
- Frame addition per plan. Use 2×6 exterior walls, 2×4 interior walls
- 36” Masonite doors with lever handles: 2 hinged, 1 bi-fold, 1 pocket
- 10 windows and 2 8’ doors, Andersen 400 series windows, painted white
- Kitchen appliance package: 30” electric range, stainless hood, microwave drawer, dishwasher, side by side refrigerator
- Painted white cabinets 15’ base, 11’ wall
- 60 sq feet tile splash
- Approx. 680 sq ft of hardwood flooring
- Approx. 70 sq ft of floor tile
- Approx. 35 sq ft of shower floor tile
- Curb-less shower system
- Approx. 165 sq ft of wall tile
- Wall mounted shower head with hose
- Bench seat in shower
- Partition glass by others
- 5 shelves in bath closet
- Shelf and rod in bedroom closet
- ADA toilet and open vanity in bathroom
- Grab bars in shower and at toilet area
- Extend deck as needed (approx.188 sq feet), new wood decking over existing deck (approx. 300 sq feet) and (approx.. 50 linear ft) of railing
- Lighting and electric per plan
- New unit HVAC for the new space, location TBD
- Relocate gas line for pool
- Coordinate sprinkler system relocation
- Paint all new space
The homeowners drew their inspiration from home remodeling projects featured on Houzz.com. The design options are a result of homeowners online research combined with an in-home consultation with Design Build Planners. There is also a proprietary profile checklist that homeowners fill out that depicts their lifestyle and room use. After compiling this information, Design Build Planners incorporates their construction knowledge and design creativity for the space with a focus on the budget and overall investment.
