This is one of the best adult drinks to savor after a chock-full of fun with the regular winter family snowball fight. After wiping the freezing cold snow off your clothes (and face), enjoy snuggling up by the fireplace with this o-so-delectable beverage.
- 1 stick of softened, unsalted butter
- ½ a cup of tightly packed dark brown sugar
- 2 tsp. of finely grated orange zest (Fresh)
- 1 tsp. of Saigon cinnamon
- ¼ a tsp. of anise seed
- ¾ a tsp. of ground ginger
- ½ a tsp. of freshly ground cloves
- ½ a tsp. of freshly grated nutmeg
- 1 ½ oz. of Spiced rum
- ¾ a cup of water
- ¼ a cup of honey

In a sauce pan, allow the water allow to boil. Add the stick of butter, fresh orange zest, nutmeg, cloves, Saigon Cinnamon, anise seed and ginger. Place lid on top and allow contents to simmer 3 – 5 minutes.
After the time has passed, remove the lid from sauce pan and supplement in the dark brown sugar. Gently stir the ingredients for 1-2 minutes or until brown sugar has dissolved, making sure to mix in all the crevasses.
Place the lid back onto the saucepan and allow to simmer for 1-2 minutes.
Remove the lid and combine the new mixture and spiced rum into your favorite crystal pitcher.
Add in the honey, according to your desired taste.
Cover the top of pitcher. Allow ingredients to remain covered for 2 to 3 minutes.
Pour the drink into your favorite mugs.
I enjoy placing a sliced lemon as well as a Thyme sprig in the individual mugs as a unique garnish.
