The Design Build Planners created designs for the this whole home renovation in Princeton, NJ. LOK Designs is managing and building the project. To the right is a dollhouse overview of the remodel and below is the scope of the work.
Mud Room
- Remove floor material and install new tile flooring
- Paint walls
Kitchen
- Demo kitchen to stud and subfloor
- Flush header between kitchen and dining room
- Add powder room to rear corner
- Move door to mud room and add a 36” window next to it
- Close rear window and patch exterior
- Alter existing kitchen layout per plan
- Relocate radiator to under the island
- Tile backsplash in kitchen and eating area
- Reuse refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave. Add new range
- Move gas and sink lines
- New drywall
- New hardwood floor in kitchen to match exisitng
- Lighting per plan
- Paint walls and ceiling
Dining Room
- Refinish floors, stairs, and landing
- Change furniture layout
- Add recessed lights
- Paint walls
Living Room
- Refinish floors
- Simple mantle over brick fireplace
- Add recessed lights
- Paint walls
- Install owner suppled cabinets
Front Bathroom
- Remove bathroom in front of home completely
- Demo walls and patch flooring as needed
- Patch drywall and molding as needed
- Cap plumbing
- Move radiator
The homeowners drew their inspiration from home remodeling projects featured on Houzz.com. The design options are a result of homeowners online research combined with an in-home consultation with Design Build Planners. There is also a proprietary profile checklist that homeowners fill out that depicts their lifestyle and room use. After compiling this information, Design Build Planners incorporates their construction knowledge and design creativity for the space with a focus on the budget and overall investment.
