The entrée smoothie:

  • ½ cup of cashews
  • 2 stalks of celery (freshly sliced)
  • ½ cup favorite green food (Collard Greens, Kale, etc.)
  • ½ cup of cranberries

The right blender – more important than you may assume

As you may know, there are many blenders out there to choose from. Certain blenders may dilute the vitamins and minerals in your smoothie. While the cost may be great for your wallet, you could be losing precious nutrients; this pretty much eliminates the main idea of the drink.

Dessert:

Of course, the pumpkin pie is one of the most famous pies in the world; but when we are not in our aprons, this is an easy, scrumptious go-to dessert.

We use:

  • 1/2 cup of pumpkin sauce
  • 1/2 cup of crushed ice
  • 6 oz. of vanilla yogurt (plain would work too)
  • 2 tsp. of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp. Saigon cinnamon (to taste)
  • 2 tsp. granulated brown sugar or maple syrup (to taste)
  • Pinch of Nutmeg (to taste)
  • Pinch of Allspice (to taste)
  • Pinch of Ground Cloves (to taste)

Place ingredients into a Mason jar (leave open). Place the Mason jar onto a rectangular pan.

Make sure the pan is filled an inch with water. (This is creating a “water bath”.)

We heat the oven to 325 degrees for 20 minutes. (Keep checking with a toothpick to see if ready.)

Enjoy!

For an extra special touch, we at Organic Gurlz Gardens add a bit of whip cream with a dash of Saigon cinnamon sprinkled on top!

So enjoy this pie in a cup or meal-of-a-smoothie while hanging out with family or when sitting around the kitchen table – the drink is great anywhere in (or out) of your household.
