‘Tis the season for dwindling leaves and nippy air, unique costumes, and a key symbol – pumpkins!
From pies to jack-o-lanterns, pumpkins signify the spirit of October. Although pumpkins can be entertaining and appetizing in its many forms, it is good to know about the gains of the vine plant.
About the pumpkin:
The basis of pumpkin pie is thought to have come about when settlers sliced off the “peak of the pumpkin”, removed the seeds, and then filled it with milk, spices and honey. The pumpkin was then baked in the hot ashes of a disintegrating fire.
Indians would roast long strips of pumpkin on the open fire and dine on them. Many also took dehydrated shreds of pumpkin and intertwined them into mats.
That would be an attention-grabbing welcome mat!

- Pumpkin is quite the karate fighter – for your body.
- While helping prevent cancer from entering, the vitamins in the plant assist in kicking out cancer!
- So remember – as long as you are eating pumpkin, or pumpkin seeds, you closing up the doorway for cancer.
