Today, Organic Gurlz Gardens of Fort Wayne, Indiana will be sharing information on the Health Benefits of Black Cumin Seed Oil.
Just about everyone has heard of sesame seed oil; but what is Black Cumin seed oil?
Although this oil does sound extravagant (and expensive), it contains many fantastic uses.
Gear up and put your organic hard hats on; this oil is an adventure all on its own.
So what is Black Cumin Seed?
A fragrant seed in the Parsley family, used as a spice, Cumin seeds can serve as an ingredient in curry powder. Black cumin seeds share similar properties to Garlic and Cat’s claw.
In addition to being strong in the Anti-leukemic region, the seed can provide some immunity during the cold and flu seasons.
As an Organic Gurlz Gardens favorite, my Mommy, Becca (pictured left), usually brews up a black cumin seed tea around fall and winter time. Along with warming up the kitchen, we are protecting ourselves from sickness!
Take the black cumin seeds (Amount depends on how you would enjoy the strength of tea) and place into pot. Then, take hot water and pour into pot on top of seeds. Let the new brew steep for about 7 – 10 minutes.
*We at Organic Gurlz Gardens recommend covering the tea until time to serve. Although it is a delicious aroma, you don’t want it to “run” around in the house! **
For other culinary uses, the oil can be applied to a dish like olive oil.
About black seed oil benefits:
This seed oil is awesome to use for it anti-inflammatory capabilities. Besides assisting with joint pain (Just rub directly onto the skin), the oil can aid nasal congestion, toothaches, and headaches!
