The New Jersey homeowners, located in Middlesex County have a wonderful glass sun room with a swimming pool. However, the room wasn’t very practical. The solar heat gain from the glass often overheated the room. In addition, you can see in the before photos that the homeowners excess exercise equipment that was taking space away from their family room. They hired Design Build Planners to create an exercise room addition design. The project is located in Plainsboro, New Jersey, 08536. To the right is a dollhouse overview of the project. The design and development work was by Design Build Planners. The construction and remodeling by ProSkill Construction.
The plan includes removing the glass roof and walls plus the pool. The foundation and framed knee walls are to remain and the floor will be patched. New upper walls and roof are to be built with an ample number of skylights and high-performance windows with pleated shades. Recessed lights, ceiling fans, and a trim package were also included.

The homeowner drew her inspiration from remodeling projects featured on Houzz.com. The design options are a result of homeowner’s online research combined with an in-home consultation with Design Build Planners. There is also a proprietary profile checklist that homeowners filled out that depicts her lifestyle and room usage. After compiling this information, Design Build Planners incorporates their construction knowledge and design creativity for the space with a focus on the budget and overall investment.
This project will be built by ProSkill Construction, a DBP Preferred Remodeler.
