A home gym is a spectacular luxury. Once the project is complete the only missing component is an effective exercise plan. You want a plan that targets all areas of the body and provides toning, cardio and strength training without having to spend hours working out. To start, you want to take time to access your week in order to work out a schedule. The best place to begin is by designating 3 days to focus on cardiovascular exercise and 2 days for strength training which will help make muscles stronger and tones the body. The remaining two days are for rest and allows the body to heal and recover. The first day of your exercise plan should be cardio. Depending on the equipment in your home gym this can be anything from jogging on the treadmill, using the elliptical, or exercising on your stationary bike. No matter what you choose is should be done for 20-30 minutes. As for the legs and glutes, squats and/or lunges really target those muscles. Lastly for arms, select a set of dumbbells that feel comfortable to you and perform a set of lateral lifts, overhead tricep extensions or bicep curls. At this point it is time for a rest day. The following day, select a different cardiovascular exercise and do your strength training workout the day after that. On the final day in your exercise plan do another 20-30 minutes of cardio and allow your body to recover the following day.
