We at Organic Gurlz Gardens are often posed the question of ‘What is The Big Difference between a Smoothie and a Juice?’

Both drinks are quite delectable, commonly served chilled, and complement each other greatly. (At least, depending on the ingredients, they do.)

We have observed a few primary differences between the beverages down below…

Consistency:

The richness in a smoothie can vary, although it is usually on the thicker side; but juice generally has one consistency – smooth and quite ‘liquefied’. We at Organic Gurlz Gardens enjoy both our juices and smoothies and are always experimenting with new recipes every day!

Fun fact about juice from O.G.G – English sailors were referred to as “limeys” because they added lime juice to their diet to battle scurvy.

Depending on what the beverages contain, (i.e. Veggies vs. Fruits) smoothies and juices can vary in sugar content. High sugar content often originates from fruits and veggies such as Beets, Apples, Oranges, and so on.

Fun fact about juice from O.G.G – Blueberry Juice can assist in boosting memory!

Nutrients:

Orange juice usually contains plenty of antioxidants and high amounts of Vitamin C. Depending on the blender used, the chosen setting, ingredients, and even time in the blender, the quantity of nutrients in a smoothie may fluctuate greatly.

How it’s made:

The Great Squeeze vs. The Blender-

It is quite amazing how different but similar these two drinks are!

That about sums up what we at Organic Gurlz Gardens have observed about the differences between a juice and a smoothie! Please share some of your input of what the big difference between these two drinks are!
