This Monmouth County, New Jersey project started with tearing down the detached garage and then adding approximately 2,400 square feet including a two-car garage with a game room above, a master bedroom suite, powder room, laundry room, and mud room. The existing kitchen was completely remodeled. The exterior received a new dimensional roof. The exterior siding was redone with vinyl and stone. New steps and a portico were added to the front entryway. A second floor terrace was built that overlooks the backyard and connects the entries to the master bedroom and game room. The game room has a spiral staircase down to the mudroom.
The goal was to add additional space and completely update the home. We wanted to create a unique, elegant luxury home both inside and outside.
The challenge was to create a design that didn’t look boxy or cookie-cutter. Also the entire project was to be done while the clients remained living in the home.
The final design is one that has great flow and balance on the interior. The exterior design provides fantastic curb appeal through the utilization of angles, offsets, and the use of stone as a material break.Products utilized on this project includes: Andersen windows and doors, Clopay garage doors, GAF roofing, Therma-Tru doors, shake style vinyl siding, Cultured Stone, Kohler plumbing fixtures, TimberTech decking, and Fairway railings.
The result is a newly famous home on a well-traveled road in northern Monmouth County. Most people that see the projects before and after photos side by side are slow to accept that they are the same home. We complimented often on the creative and efficient design.
The project was designed, and developed by the Design Build Planners. The craftsmanship was by Mark of Excellence, a DBP Preferred Remodeler.
