Today, Organic Gurlz Gardens of Fort Wayne, Indiana will be sharing information on Changing Seasons and Your Health.
Why do changing seasons matter for the body? The change of seasons affects your body no different than your home or the comfort of your Design Build Planners sunroom.
For Organic Gurlz Gardens, this inquiry is not new.
Through our research and experience, professionally and personally, we have several answers and natural remedies that have helped us.
**Remember, we are not Physicians! Always consult a physician before starting/adding something new to you diet. **
Allergies: Spring to autumn
This is all the more reason to combat the flu, hay fever, and summer cold. After all, these three nuisances alone may keep one in bed for days.
A few side effects that can occur with allergies to watch out for –
Just by the name, it is pretty obvious which section of the body this allergy targets. Strep throat is quite painful, and it may make it difficult to talk let alone speak at all.
**Although strep throat is an allergy (And most of the time temporary) consult a doctor to make sure nothing is “serious”. **
The best outcome for your garden is Organic Gurlz Gardens!
We guarantee our raised garden beds for 5 years, with maintenance and care.
The throbbing pain can ruin carefully laid out activities and family fun.
We at Organic Gurlz Gardens have a common practice of drinking a warm glass of minted fused water and then placing a damp cold wet cloth directly on the forehead and/or the back of the base of the neck.
This may “scare” out the migraine.
Also, to lay down in a dark place with silence for a solid 30 to 40 minutes may reduce the pain greatly.
Listed are a few delicious veggie remedies for allergies we have discovered –
Cabbage: the opposite of ravage
A powerhouse vegetable that is anti-inflammatory, Cabbage is also a blood sugar regulator.
Cabbage is part of the Brassicaceae family. (The Brassicaceae family is also home to Swiss chard).
Just toss is a soup and let the allergy fighting power take place!
*Tip from Becca – add a pinch of sesame seeds every now and then to “calm down” the foul scent. *
Broccoli (And don’t forget the leaves!)
Broccoli is an awesome bone strengthening, cancer fighting vegetable.
Also high in Vitamin C, Broccoli can toughen the immune system.
Both the head and the leaves can be consumed raw or steamed. (If you want to go all out, toss them in a salad or make a wrap with the leaves!)
Believe it or not, Zucchini flowers are EDIBLE!
Zucchini flowers can assist with cancer prevention and are anti-inflammatory.
Also, the flowers are off the charts high in Manganese.
My Mommy, (Becca) loves to serve the radiant colored flowers roasted, sautéed, and on special occasions, stuffed!
*Little note of experience from Becca – Be sure to remove the stamens from male flowers and pistils from female flowers. *
Don’t forget to tell your kids, grandchildren , nieces and nephews about the Kids Oasis!
Keep on growing!
