These West Orange, New Jersey homeowners needed vital remodeling work. While their property and home were nice, they needed many “aging in place” and bathroom accessible features added. The homeowners decided it was best served to do their remodeling project in “phases”. Thus, the back of the home was to be secondary, with the bathroom and accessible bathroom being the primary. The Design Build Planners created the designs for the accessible bathroom in West Orange, NJ.
The existing bathroom was to be converted to universal design with dual entry from the second and third bedrooms. The existing area was converted to add as many universal and accessible bathroom designs as possible.
The homeowners drew their inspiration from remodeling projects featured on Houzz.com. The design options are a result of homeowners online research combined with an in-home consultation with Design Build Planners. There is also a proprietary profile checklist that homeowners fill out that depicts their lifestyle and bathroom use. After compiling this information, Design Build Planners incorporates their construction knowledge and design creativity for the space with a focus on the budget and overall investment.
Below are a couple of before photos of the existing space. Also below are the final computer designs created by Jason Parsons, a Certified Kitchen and Bath Remodeler. Follow along with the project’s progress as photos will be added.
